This is how the rucksack should fit after measuring the back length.

So you measure your back length

So that backpacks fit most hikers, they come in different back lengths. The back length is the Distance between the 7th cervical vertebra and the upper edge of the pelvic bone. You can easily determine this distance using a tape measure.

1

Upper point: 7. Cervical vertebra

Rest your chin on your chest. The 7th cervical vertebra is the most prominent one.

2

Lower point: Iliac crest

Place your hands on your hips. The top edge of your pelvic bone should be between your thumbs; this is the lower measurement point.

Tip: It's most accurate to measure with the help of a second person.
